I was definitely skeptical. I normally look at price when buying things and that weights heavily on my decision. The price of sensodyne repair & protect made it hard to buy, but the pain and all of the things I was having to avoid made me kind of desperate. I can't even remember the last time I was able to eat ice cream without waiting for it to melt. Iced drinks were not a good option for me. I couldn't even drink anything straight out of the fridge. Everything had to be room temp. Lately my sensitivity had branched out from just drinks and ceaser salad dressing (my favorite) was a problem, among other things. Every day, almost every meal, I experienced pain. I've been using Sensodyne Repair & Protect for about 2 weeks now. I understand when I started using it that it would take time for it to work. I wouldn't see results overnight. Yesterday I got up the courage to drink water from a water cooler. No pain! I also drank an iced drink, still using a straw but not using it as much. No pain! It's definitely working! I can feel results! I am no longer a skeptic and this product was worth the extra money I had to pay for it.

I have used almost all the toothpastes sensodyne makes. Until I tried repair and protect, I had a fantastic experience. My sensitivity was addressed without sacrificing a great clean and whitening effect. This one felt weird and made my mouth feel dry from the beginning. Then within a week I developed canker sores and gum pain. It's the only change I've made that I can think caused this. After reading other reviews, I'm aware that others have had a similar experience. I'm still loyal to sensodyne but I threw my new tube of repair and protect away

Caution!!!

By

from Saint Petersburg, FL

Comments about Sensodyne Repair and Protect:

I've used Sensodyne for years without a problem. I recently tried the new Rapid Relief toothpaste. The product has a small warning on back that says "if irritation occurs discontinue use". "Irritation" means the inside of your mouth feels like you drank battery acid. I do not exaggerate. I used product for less than one week. My lips and cheeks were swollen and the entire inside of my mouth (cheeks, gums, roof of mouth) were covered with sores and tiny white "blisters". I assume this doesn't happen to everyone but if you have a "sensitivity" to stannous fluoride you won't know until it's too late. I stopped using product but it took several days for the swelling and pain to subside. I think the label warning should be more in line with possible side effects!

Horrible painful ulcers

By

from Phoenix

Comments about Sensodyne Repair and Protect:

I have been using this product for weeks and began having sores on my tongue and thought I must have eaten something that bothered my tastebuds. The other day I woke to swollen lips and very cracked lips. This product does more harm than good. I'm hoping now that I've stopped using this product my mouth starts to feel better soon.

Comments about Sensodyne Repair and Protect:

I bought two tubes so I would have a back up. When I used the first tube, I found 1/3 of the tube was air. It was not a full tube of toothpaste. I am glad I bought two because I will need the second tube very soon.

THE BEST PRODUCT I HAVE EVER USED!

By

from Albany, NY

Comments about Sensodyne Repair and Protect:

Thanks for making this product. I have worked in the dental field for over 40 years. IHave had multiple dental issues that have caused crazy sensitive teeth. The first time I used this, the result was shocking to me. To be pain free from sensitive teeth is a joy that I have not experienced in over 40 years. I have tried all the sensitivity products, Gel-Kam, light cured material to of no avail. I'm iln debt forever. Thanks.

Sensodyne Repair Product is horrible!

By

from Missouri

Comments about Sensodyne Repair and Protect:

I've had a minimal amount of cold sensitivity occasionally, but nothing much. Dentist recommended Sensodyne. The sample given was OK. I bought the Repair product and used it a few days, and now, I can hardly even drink milk or anything slightly cold as the pain in my front teeth hurt. I never had any of these issues before using this product. I stopped using it days ago and the sensitivity isn't getting any better. I wish I would never had bought it. This product caused a little cold sensitivity to go into a horrible amount of cold sensitivity. Something is definitely wrong with this product. Think twice before buying it.

Watch out for possible side effects

By

from Canada

Comments about Sensodyne Repair and Protect:

I was vacationing in the US for two weeks when I ran out of the Canadian version (with Novamin) of Sensodyne Repair and Protect which works fine for me. Upon heading to the nearest store I quickly found out that Sensodyne Repair and Protect is not the exact same product in the US as in Canada. I started reading reviews while in the store and saw enough reviews regarding mouth irritation to make me worried however I bought it anyways thinking I'll keep an eye on things and see how it goes. It took 7 days of brushing two or three times a day before I really started noticing irritation on my upper gums and inside of my cheeks. My lips were getting chapped and dry and the inside of my mouth was constantly dry as well. In the morning I would have film and gunk buildup between my gums and cheeks which was gross. None of these side effects ever happened with the Canadian version of this product. I stopped using it, threw it out and reverted to using the Canadian version of this toothpaste since I was back in Canada by this point. It took a couple of days for the mouth irritation to dissipate and everything to go back to normal. I really hope Sensodyne doesn't change the Canadian version to what is being sold in the US otherwise I'll be done. I should mention that in terms of teeth sensitivity the US toothpaste still did the job but with some very uncomfortable side effects.

Mouth Irritation

By

from Los Angeles, CA

Comments about Sensodyne Repair and Protect:

For about 2 months my mouth became intensely dry and the inside of my lower lip was very sensitive and felt like it was irritated and swollen. It was warm and a constant irritation. I looked up every possible cause, never once suspecting my toothpaste. It was not until 2 weeks ago while I was on vacation and used a different travel toothpaste that I noticed my mouth healed within a couple of days. I thought maybe it was because I was not stressed. Upon returning home and starting to use this toothpaste again, within 2 days of use, my inner mouth/lips were irritated all over again. It seems to only be this toothpaste.

I would't use this again!

By

from Grand Rapids, Michigan

Comments about Sensodyne Repair and Protect:

My dentist said you MUST apply a one inch ribbon of the paste to your brush for it to be effective. My sonic toothbrush head isn't even an inch long first of all! I went ahead and used the paste for about a week, and my mouth started to be covered in sores. My lips were dry and chapped which isn't something that typically happens to me in the summer. The taste isn't bad, but I didn't notice a huge improvement in sensitivity. For me personally, the pros do not outweigh the cons and I will not be continuing use with this Sensodyne product.
