Our History

1961

1961

Sensodyne® Original, the first desensitizing toothpaste containing strontium chloride, launches in the US and UK. Strontium chloride helps block dentin tubules.

1980

1980

Sensodyne®, the first toothpaste containing potassium nitrate (which helps sooth the nerves inside the teeth), is launched. It’s clinically proven to relieve pain when used twice a day.

2006

2006

Sensodyne® Pronamel® is launched. It’s optimized fluoride formula helps protect against the effects of acid erosion on tooth enamel.

Sensodyne® Repair and Protect, containing stannous fluoride is launched. It helps repair sensitive areas of the teeth.*

Sensodyne® True White®, is launched. The active ingredient, potassium nitrate, provides sensitivity relief* and the inactive ingredient, sodium tripolyphosphate, gently removes stains. Sensodyne® True White® is 10 times less abrasive than many leading whitening toothpaste.**

Sensodyne® Deep Clean, with foam boost technology, is launched. It helps calm nerves inside the tooth for 24 hours* while leaving a lasting sensation of freshness.
