What type of toothbrush should I use?
Daily brushing and cleaning of your teeth is important because it removes plaque. If the plaque isn’t removed, it continues to build up, and can cause tooth decay and gum disease.
Adults are recommended to choose a small to medium size brush with soft to medium bristles. The head should be small enough to reach into all parts of the mouth: especially the back of the mouth where it can be difficult to reach.
Children need to use smaller brushes with soft bristles.
People with sensitive teeth can use softer bristled brushes that are gentle on teeth while also providing effective cleaning.
There are many types of toothbrushes available. Your dentist or dental hygienist will be able to recommend a toothbrush most suitable to your specific requirements.
Dentists recommend that you replace your toothbrush every 3 months.
